Union of Building Workers: A seminar on direct elections of the Chairman of the Union at the congress

Attending the seminar, there were comrades Nguyen Ngoc Son - Deputy Head of Organization Board of Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, comrades Pham Thi Thu Lan - Deputy Director of Institute of Workers, and representatives of Hanoi Confederation of Labor’s Organization Committee, Hanoi Union of Building Workers.

With a total of nearly 150 union members, the Cotana Group’s Union is one of 19 grassroots trade unions under the Hanoi Union of Building Workers which voted directly Union President in Congress. For many years, the Company's union activities always achieved many excellent and encouraging achievements. Every year, the Company's Union always receives the attention and direction of the Party Committee of the Company, Hanoi Union of Building Workers, the encouragement and attention of the Board of Directors so that the jobs and lives of employees and workers in the company are always improved, one of the top 15 enterprises in Hanoi construction industry.
 
Reported at the meeting of the General Confederation, comrades Nguyen Thi Thu Huong - Deputy General Director, President of Trade Union of the Company affirmed that the direct election of the Chairman of the Labor Union at the congress expresses the wishes of the delegation, employees, limiting the intervention of employers in the process of personnel preparation. This shows the democracy, objectivity, choosing the right people with talent - mind - virtue - knowledge so that workers can truly trust and put their faith in the trade union organization.

The seminar took place in an open, frank and respectful manner. Representatives of the Organization Board of the General Confederation appreciate the professional, careful and thoughtful organization of the Company’s Union. This survey is the basis for the General Confederation and Institute of Workers to listen directly to the voices from the grassroots level and have an objective viewpoint in guiding and planning guidelines and policies for Vietnam Trade Union organization in the near future.
